Teen Scene Program for February
Calling all Aventura teens: Enjoy your special program from 5 – 7 pm every Wednesday in February at the Aventura Community Recreation Center! Each Wednesday will feature new activities and giveaways! Teen Scene is structured for ages 12 – 15 years.

2012 Spring Camp at the Community Recreation Center
Aventura Spring Camp will be held Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16 at the Aventura Community Recreation Center. Come celebrate the Goombay Festival, compete in the Alaskan Winter Games, participate in the Survivor Outback Challenge, and much more! Field trip destinations include Zoo Miami and swimming! Spring Camp is open to children 5-14 years of age.

The City of Aventura and the Community Advisory Board proudly announces the 2012 GO GREEN Awards Recognition Program for all Aventura residential and commercial properties.
Fitness and Wellness Fair at the Community Recreation Center

Biscayne Boulevard Decorative Street Lighting Improvements
Decorative Street Lighting Improvements on the east side of Biscayne Boulevard from NE 199th Street south to the William Lehman Causeway will begin on January 3, 2012 and will be completed in April, 2012. At times, temporary closure of the outside through lane for northbound traffic will occur during construction. However, no road closure is required and all remaining northbound lanes will remain open..
Aventura Little League Registration
The Aventura Little League 2012 Opening Day is scheduled for Sunday, March 18, 2012! Registration starts December 12, 2011 for boys and girls ages 4-14. This includes softball, T-Ball, and Little League Baseball. The cost for residents is $130. Non-resident registration is $156, provided they participated in the 2010 season.
Calling all Aventura teens from 5 – 7 PM on Wednesdays for Teen Scene! Get your jokes ready on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 for Comedy Night and bring all your trivia knowledge on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 for Game Show Mania at the Aventura Community Recreation Center. Teen Scene is structured for teens ages 12 – 15 years old.
The City of Aventura will be offering Boys Soccer January – February, 2012. This program is available for boys ages 4 – 14.
Practice and games for boys 6 and under will be held at Founders Park located at 3105 NE 190 Street. Practice and games for boys 14 and under will be held at Waterways Park located at 3301 NE 213 Street.

Aventura Park Hours Changing on September 26, 2011
Due to the sun setting earlier, Founders Park, Veterans Park and Waterways Park will be open until 7 PM daily effective Monday, September 26, 2011. Waterways Park will be open until 8PM for scheduled youth athletic leagues only. Waterways Dog Park will be open until 7:30 PM daily.
Waterways Park Basketball Court Closed for Resurfacing
The basketball court at Waterways Park will be closed from Monday, September 26, 2011 at 8:00 AM through Friday, October 7, 2011 for resurfacing and will re-open at 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2011.

The City of Aventura will hold its annual Halloween Harvest event on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Community Recreation Center. Children and families are encouraged to come in costume and participate in the fun maze, bounce houses, carnival games, a trick or treat trail, arts & crafts and a costume parade.

The playground at Waterways Park will be closed from Wednesday, September 7, 2011 through Friday, September 9, 2011 for improvements to the shade structure.

Veterans Park, located at 18375 NE 31st Avenue, will be closed for maintenance on Friday, August 26, 2011 and will reopen at 8 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2011.
September Starts the "Teen Scene"
Calling all Aventura middle school students! The City of Aventura presents a brand new program for teens, ages 12 – 15. The "Teen Scene" kicks off with a Pizza Party and Video Game Tournament on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 6 PM at the Aventura Community Recreation Center.
Girls Soccer Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for the City of Aventura Girls Soccer League for girls ages 4 – 14. The season will start in November 2011 and finish in March 2012.
Community Recreation Center Back to School Membership Special
From now through October 1, any Miami-Dade resident will receive an additional three months free with a purchase of a three month membership. All current members who renew their membership will receive 4 free guest passes.
Aventura Youth Basketball League Registration
The City of Aventura is now accepting registration for the youth basketball league for children ages 5 through 14.
Founders Park Tennis Courts Closed for Resurfacing
The Founders Park clay tennis courts will be closed for resurfacing beginning Monday, September 12, 2011 and are expected to reopen on Monday, September 19, 2011.

Tree trimming work on Williams Island Boulevard is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Traffic will be diverted at the intersections of NE 31st Avenue and NE 27th Avenue.
