Veterans Park Temporary Closing
Veterans Park will be closed on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in preparation for construction of a restroom facility.

Aventura Park Hours Changing on September 21st 2009
Effective Monday, September 21, 2009 hours of operation for all City parks will be from 8 AM - 7 PM seven days per week.
Shade Structure Installation at Waterways Park Playground
The City will be installing a shade structure at the Waterways Park playground starting Wednesday, September 16, 2009 and should re-open by Friday, September 18, 2009.
Teacher Planning Day for Fall 2009
When school is out the adventures begin! The City of Aventura offers fun filled days of activities for children ages 5-12 at the Community Recreation Center, located at 3375 NE 188th Street.
The City of Aventura will hold its annual Halloween Harvest event on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 1:00 – 4:30 PM at the Community Recreation Center.
Florida Power and Light (FPL) is scheduled to begin installing conduit and fiber on NE 28th Avenue; NE 207th Street; NE 34th Avenue; and North Country Club Drive on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by September 30, 2009.
West Country Club Drive and Aventura Boulevard Right Turn Lane Construction
Construction of a dedicated right turn lane for southbound traffic on West Country Club Drive at Aventura Boulevard will begin on September 14, 2009.

Founders Park SplashPad Fall Hours
After Monday, September 7, 2009, the Founders Park SplashPad will be open on weekends only from 10AM – 6 PM through Sunday, October 25, 2009 for the fall season.
Founders Park Tennis Courts Closed
Founders Park tennis courts will be closed for fence repairs on Friday, August 7, 2009 and they are expected to reopen at 8 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2009.

The City of Aventura supports the observance of National “Stop on Red” Week from August 2 – 8 and reminds motorists in the City to always stop on red traffic lights.
Aventura Launches Electronic Newsletter
In the spirit of Aventura’s Go Green initiative, an electronic version of the newsletter, Aventura Update, is now available on the City’s web site.
Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Water and Sewer Systems
Construction of the water and sewer systems adjacent to the eastern terminus of NE 188th ST and the Community Recreation Center will begin on July 13, 2009 and is scheduled for completion on August 3, 2009.

Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Web Site Launch
The City of Aventura has launched a new web site for the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center now under construction. The new web site, located at www.aventuracenter.org, gives monthly updates of the project and new features will be added as opening day approaches.
Founders Park Playground Closed for Repairs
Founders Park playground will be closed for repairs beginning Monday, June 15, 2009. The playground will reopen on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.

Aventura Community Recreation Center Prepares for Events

City of Aventura Celebrates 12 Years as Tree City USA
The National Arbor Day Society has named the City of Aventura “Tree City USA” for the 12th consecutive year.
Street Asphalt Overlay and Drainage Improvements
Construction of Asphalt Overlay Improvements on NE 209th Street from Biscayne Boulevard east towards NE 30th Avenue and on NE 190th Street from NE 29th Avenue to its east terminus and Drainage Improvements on NE 191st Street adjacent to NE 29th Avenue will begin on April 6, 2009 and are scheduled for completion on May 13, 2009.
Waterways Park Spring Break Hours
Effective Monday, March 30 through Sunday, April 12, 2009 Aventura Waterways Park’s hours of operation will be as follows: Monday – Sunday; 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Installation of a temporary access gate and walkway at Veteran’s Park allowing public ingress and egress to and from the site during construction of the restroom facility will take place on March 23, 2009.
Sidewalk replacement at multiple locations throughout the City of Aventura is scheduled to begin on Monday March 23, 2009 and be completed by Friday March 27, 2009.
Hot summer days are on the way! The City of Aventura is holding summer camp from June 8 – August 21, 2009.
Summer has a new adventure waiting for campers ages 9 - 14, Travel Camp. Travel Camp features field trips three days a week plus a swimming trip.
Registration for Summer Sports Camp begins March 16, 2009 for sports fans ages 7-14. Sports Camp will begin on June 22 – July 17, 2009. Each week campers will participate in a different youth sport with the last two weeks being camper’s choice.
