Ways to Go Green in AventuraGo Green - City of Aventura

FIVE FAST GO GREEN TIPS FOR SUMMER

1. Recycling @ Recreation: Bring your cans, glass or plastic bottles, cardboard, paper and newspaper to City Parks or the Community Recreation Center. Look for the green bins marked with our Go Gree program logo and drop your clean recyclables inside. With single stream recycling, you don't need to separate materials.

2. E-Waste Collection: Participate in the Electionic Waste collection on August 30th in nearby Haulover Park. This collection sponsored by Commissioner Heyman will accept any unwanted computers, monitors, keyboards, mouses, terminals, printers, modems, cellphones, batteries, televisions or copiers. Any working items will be donated. If you miss this local event, you can always find drop off locations throughout the county by visiting Maimi Dade Solid Waste Management page on recycling electronics. | Aug 30 E-Waste Collection Event

3. Lighten up on the Gas Pedal: Driving at a slower pace for summer road trips can improve your fuel efficiency and lessen emissions. For every 5 mph over 55, you lose roughly 10% of your fuel economy. By slowing down from 70 mph to 55 mph, you can get a 23% improvement or rent a hybrid for longer excursions.
