What is a red-light running violation?
A red-light running violation occurs when a motorist enters an intersection after the traffic signal has turned red. Motorists already in the intersection when the signal changes to red, waiting to turn for example, are not considered red-light violators. | Ordinance 2007-15
What to do if you receive a Notice of Violation:
1. View the violation
Log onto www.violationinfo.com by entering your Notice number and PIN shown in the red box at the top right corner of your Notice to view photos and video of your violation.
2. Pay the fine
The fine is $125 for the first offense; second offense is $250; subsequent offenses are $500 each time.

Pay Online. Log onto www.violationinfo.com by entering your Notice number and PIN shown in the red box at the top right corner of your Notice. There is a convenience fee of $4.00.

Pay by Mail. Mail your check or money order, payable to the City of Aventura along with the tear-off coupon from the bottom of the Notice. Write the Notice # on your payment.

- Pay by Credit Card. Call toll free 1-866-790-4111 between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.
- Pay in Person. You may pay in person by check or money order only (payable to the CITY OF AVENTURA) at the Aventura Government Center, located at 19200 W. Country Club Dr., FL 33180. Monday - Friday between 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
3. Request a hearing
You may request a hearing in writing by completing the Hearing Request Form included with your Notice of Violation. Mail it to: Violation Processing Center, P.O. Box 12129, Scottsdale, AZ 85267.
4. Submit an Affidavit of Non-Responsibility
You may submit an Affidvait of Non-Responsibilty if your vehicle was in the care, custody or control of another person without your permission; a short term rental; sold or stolen. This Affidavit must be filled out accurately and must be notarized. Follow the instructions on the form for submission.
What happens if you ignore a Notice of Violation?
Failure to pay the civil penalty or to contest liability prior to the due date on the Notice is an admission of liability, and failure to appear at an administrative adjudication hearing after having requested a hearing is an admission of liability and constitutes a waiver of the right to appeal.
Will I receive any points on my driving record for this infraction?
No. this is a civil infraction that is not reported to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

Aventura's camera enforcement program is designed to reduce the number of violations, crashes and injuries caused by red-light runners. The objective is to change drivers' behavior, making the community safe as more and more drivers obey the traffic signals and stop on red.
