The Police Department aims to be one of the most technologically advanced agencies, and it has been living on the cutting edge since the very beginning of operations. The technology used in the Police Department is maintained by staff in Information Systems. About the Technology :
Officers have laptop computers which allow wireless communications between the officer and our Communications Center, along with the ability to communicate with each other; run state and nationwide computer checks for tags, people and articles; all at the tips of their fingers without leaving their vehicles. With voiceless dispatch, the officers receive their calls for service via their laptop computers. Officers can silently communicate back and forth with the dispatcher allowing for more clarity in some instances when a radio transmission might not be possible.
Aventura Police Officers have a myriad of technologically advanced equipment to serve Aventura residents with great efficiency from transportation to services such as our R911 Program. We are always searching for ways to improve our operations for better law enforcement.
