March 23, 2020 - Attn: Aventura Residents, Business Owners and Bldg. Mgmt. Companies and Managers

Reminder to all regarding the Aventura Emergency Order for non-essential business closures; the closing of public venues including pools and tennis court facilities; contractor services; and social distancing.

The City of Aventura is committed to the health, safety and welfare of the community it serves and continues to take necessary steps to ensure its commitment by responding to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Please see the following message relating to the Aventura Emergency Order for Non-Essential Business Closures and the closing of public venues including pools and tennis court facilities, contractor services and social distancing:

  • Pools and Tennis Facilities: Please be advised that under the Emergency Order of Aventura and Miami Dade County, powers are granted to the City Manager of Aventura to make decisions in the best interests of the City with regards to health and safety which allows for the manager to make determinations and closures of facilities as deemed necessary. The City of Aventura’s City Code and Florida Statues grant this authority. As such, all pools and tennis facilities are to remain closed until further notice as by the standing Emergency Orders of Aventura and Miami-Dade County. This closure is for all pools and tennis facilities located in/on Condominium and Cooperative residential properties and apartment complexes.
  • Contractor Services: Consideration is recommended at this time all contractor services being carried out within residential properties be limited to only EMERGENCY REPAIRS at this time. Those who choose to have contractors in their homes should consider the possible impact to them and their families when they have outside workers in their residences. In the best interests of the safety and health for your families and building and to reduce the chance of an exposure to Corona/COVID-19, we ask that everyone consider this recommendation.
  • Social Distancing:  Social distancing is one of the most important ways for those who must travel outside their homes for various reasons such as food shopping, getting medications or going to the doctors, etc. to help prevent the spread of the Corona/COVID-19 virus. Please be advised that this basic practice of social distancing must be followed by all persons who decide to leave their homes and have to wait on line for a service, or who walk or run for exercise. Our Aventura Police Department is being asked to remind persons to comply when they observe persons who are not complying with social distancing.

The City of Aventura is following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), and Miami-Dade County regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Please be advised that the operational changes and time periods described herein are subject to change at any time.
