Miami Gardens Drive at Biscayne Boulevard FDOT Project

The Florida Dept. of Transportation's (FDOT) roadway construction project along SR 860/Miami Gardens Drive and Biscayne Boulevard continues. Please be cautious in the area as lane closures are necessary during the duration of the project.

Start Date: July 2020

Completion Date: Early 2021

Update: October 2, 2020

On Friday, October 2, the contractor will close the dedicated right turn lane from eastbound Miami Gardens Drive to southbound US 1/Biscayne Boulevard. Motorists will still be able to turn south onto Biscayne Boulevard by using the through lane at the intersection. This lane will be closed for one day while the contractor performs drill shaft operations. If the event is rained out, then Monday, October 5, will be used as an alternate date. Please follow all signage through the work zone.

Lane widening, drainage and signal work

 

Construction Activity

  • Performing drainage operation in the southwest corner of Miami Gardens Drive and Biscayne Boulevard
  • Performing signalization work in the northwest corner of Miami Gardens Drive and Biscayne Boulevard
  • Installing drainage along eastbound Miami Gardens Drive, just east of Biscayne Boulevard
  • Performing Signalization upgrades in the southeast corner of Miami Gardens Drive and Biscayne Boulevard


Lane Closures/Detours

  • The outside eastbound lane along Miami Gardens Drive, just east of Biscayne Boulevard is continuously closed.
  • The inside southbound left turn lane from Biscayne Boulevard to eastbound Miami Gardens Drive is continuously closed. One turn lane remains open.
  • The outside northbound turn lane on Biscayne Boulevard to eastbound Miami Gardens Drive is continuously closed.
  • A pedestrian detour is in place along the southeast quadrant of the intersection. Please follow all posted signage.
