Full Project Description:

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is scheduled to begin an improvement construction project in Aventura on Monday, April 19, 2021 to replace existing wastewater lines along Island Boulevard and N.E. 183 Street from Biscayne Boulevard east to Williams Island.

To enhance the reliability of the wastewater system, the Department will be upgrading the water and sewer infrastructure by replacing existing wastewater lines with new lines. Most of the construction work will occur Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There may be some night work when necessary. The project is expected to be completed by March of 2022.

Impact to traffic is expected in the affected area. Westbound lanes between Biscayne Boulevard and N.E. 27 Avenue will be closed. Westbound traffic will be detoured using N.E. 185 Street and sections of construction areas on N.E. 183 Street to allow continuous use of residence driveways and access to adjacent roadways. All attempts will be made to alleviate vehicular congestion with well-defined detours.
