To ensure the safety of all patrons, the City of Aventura provides a lightning warning system that must be adhered to at all parks, ACES and the Community Recreation Center. The lightning warning system emits siren/horn blasts in any of the two following patterns when conditions are favorable for inclement weather threatening the area:
One long horn blast indicates possible lightning in the area. The parks will close. All patrons must exit the parks, and those who are outdoors at ACES or the Community Recreation Center must seek shelter inside the corresponding facility.
Three short horn blasts signal the “all clear,” and the parks will reopen.
"Our mission is to join within our community to make Aventura a city of the highest quality and a city of excellence. We do this by providing responsive, cost-effective and innovative local government services."
